Beginner's guide to using iGi:forums
iGi:forums consists of a number of sections in which you can post messages to each other. Each section (or forum) has a theme, so you should try and keep discussions in a particular forum relevant to the theme.
Before you can use the forums you have to create an account. Click on the 'Enter iGi:forums' link on the right-hand side; this will start the forums page, but in a new window, so that you can keep an eye on these instructions at the same time!
Creating an account
Click on the 'Register' button at the top of the screen:
Click on the terms of agreement click on the following page (assuming you agree with the rules!)
On the next page you have to fill in details about yourself; your username, your email address and a password. You also have to enter a confirmation code:
When you're done, skip the other sections and click the 'Submit' button at the bottom of the screen.
Shortly you will receive an email which contains a web link; click on this to confirm your details. Once you've done that, you can log into the forums!
Logging into the forums
Click the 'Log
in' button at the top of the page.
Type in your username and password into the boxes. If you don't want to have to log in every time you visit iGi:forums, you can click the 'Log me on automatically each visit' box:
You should now be logged in and ready to post your first message!
Posting a message
Before you write a message, you need to decide on which forum to post in. For now, click on the 'Practice Forum' link.
You can now either read any existing topics in this forum, or create a new one. Click the 'New Topic' button to start a new topic. Each new topic must have a subject, so fill in the Subject field. Now enter your message in the Message Body area.
Once you're done, click on the 'Submit' button to post your message. Your message should now appear for all the world to see!
