| iGi was never intended to be a one man show, but to develop individual talents/gifts in the church. In fact, throughout the bible you can see examples of people working together to get things done. Things always work better when other people are involved in the process!
Setup/down
If you are involved in this team you will be usually co-ordinate with Wole (he leads the team) and the lighting engineers. You will be expected to be at church at 5.15pm the weeks that you are involved. This team makes sure that the room is setup ready for us to gather together to worship God. This role in iGi should not be underestimated as the environment we meet in will says a lot to visitors about how seriously (or not) we take worshiping God!
Catering
Food is an area close to our hearts at iGi! This is a vital role within the life of iGi. Your responsibilities will include being at church at 5.15pm the weeks that iGi is running, to ensure that the kitchen is prepared and setup ready to go once the worship gathering has finished. Other responsibilities will include serving food/snacks and handling money, plus ensuring the kitchen is clean after use.
Sound
Every iGi meeting relies heavily on the PA staff to ensure
that everyone can hear the music, singers, notices, talks
etc… The members of staff involved with sound need to
make sure the PA is working properly, that all the singers
and musicians can be heard clearly (and can hear themselves
in their monitors) so you must have a good ear for music!
They also play CD’s at various times in the evening
and record the talks for the website. At the end of the evening
many youth enjoy rapping, singing and beatboxing, so the staff
need to be on hand to oversee all these activities too!
There is no point pulling the wool over your eyes... PA staff
(and lighting staff) are the first to arrive and last to leave!
(including on Thursday practices), but it is a lot of fun…
and without these vital people iGi would be a wet lettuce!
Chris
heads up this team so if you want to be one of the most important
people in the building (and enjoy delusions of grandeur) go
see him and he will be happy to give you the required training.
Projector
A typical iGi gathering relies a lot on multi-media, and running the projector is right at the heart of that! As well as getting the right words at the right time on the projector screen during worship, you will also have to be on the ball to play the videos, animations and the other presentations during an iGi meeting. You will need to feel comfortable using a PC - although you definately don't have to be a computer-whizz! You need to be at church at 5.15pm on an iGi Sunday to provide the words for the worship team practice. Chris heads up this team.
iGi:news production
If you want to be involved in this team you have to feel comfortable in front of the camera and have a desire to develop in presenting. Clear communication skills would be helpful! You will also be involved generating creative ideas to deliver the news items to the rest of iGi. You will liaise with Chris and Roni on the production of the news.
Dance
This is exactly what is says - dancing! If you have a particular flair for dancing or just want to learn how then this might be the team for you. You will be required to attend scheduled practices and learn the routines ready for involvement in the worship gatherings. You will need to be a team player and be able to take instruction from Javon who is the co-ordinator of the dance team.
Drama
If you have a knack for the dramatic then maybe this is where you could serve. The purpose of the drama is not to be the star of the show but to be part of the over all theme of the worship gathering. The drama team will seek to deliver the message for the evening in a way that compliments all that goes on in the evening.
